My thoughts on the Dexter finale in one word:

FINALLY!!!!!

Glen is awesome, and the guy is a good actor too. He’s a good character in the book as well. I just have a hard time (maybe a spoiler???) that they are keeping Rick this straight up hero and transferring all the slightly more questionable stuff to Shane’s character. In the book (definite spoiler) Shane is dead in like the first 15 pages and Rick is the one who starts to lose it, but still has to lead the group. It makes for an interesting dilemma and group dynamic. Also, where is Tyrese? I’m sorry, I never wanted to be one of those “Book was better” type of people, and I DO enjoy the show, it just started to drag. This is when I picked up the book. With so much going on there, I wonder why Kirkman, the writer of the book and works on the show, decided to slow it down sooo much, cut certain things, and add others. I am fine when there are differences in literature and screen versions of it. It’s different mediums and certain things work better in one than the other. I guess, I just have the problem of thinking the book was SOOOO badass, and the show is starting to lose me…
Dexter… I’m pretty sure the professor isn’t there. I have other theories but since that’s the one I’ve seen the most floating around, I’ll only post that. But it’s getting dumb that Deb doesn’t know about her brother. And it seems like the seasons are going with “what works” instead of trying something new. I DO like the religious stuff. I think it’s interesting. And I think the acting on the show is grade A, especially Hall and Deb. The show is getting more viewers as it goes on so they don’t seem to want to take risks with anything, and any problem is always wrapped up (for the most part) by the end of the season.
Again, I absolutely love this show, and Michael C. Hall rocks my face off. But I do see problems with them. Thanks for your input though!

Dexter and Walking Dead Tonight!

Even though I’m getting a little annoyed with Dexter, I still love Michael C. Hall and hold out hope for it to get really badass. I also think I’ve had this season pretty figured out for a few episodes now. I won’t say what I think is going to happen, but I will say that it ruins the tension of the show a bit.

Walking Dead is weird too. I enjoy it, but it’s dragging on a bit. OK, a lot. And I just finished reading the Compendium and that was badASS!!! So now I will be endlessly comparing the book to the show. I also think Shane, despite (or mainly because of) his arguably ambiguous role as antihero/villain, is becoming one of the only really interesting characters on the show.

But again, I enjoy both.

What about you guys?
